West Mifflin Dog Park
UPDATE – January 10, 2020
Exciting news! The Foundation is happy to announce that through a generous donation from U.S. Steel and support from the West Mifflin community, we now have necessary funding to construct the West Mifflin Dog Park!
Members of the Foundation were on hand at the proposed dog park site today with local officials and representatives from U.S. Steel to receive their $20,000 donation which will be used to purchase the fencing for the park.
The Foundation would like to thank Don German and Kurt Barshick of U.S. Steel for their generosity, and Rep. Bill Kortz, Senator Jim Brewster, County Councilman Macey, Mayor Kelly, Council President Marone, and Councilman Inglis for their support.
Construction will begin in the spring and we hope to have the dog park open before the summer months. Keep an eye on our page for updates!
The Foundation is excited to announce that we’re working with the Borough to build the West Mifflin Community Dog Park! 🐶🐕🐩
In July, Borough Council authorized the Foundation to begin the process of fundraising to convert Glenny Lane Park into a dog park accessible for all community residents and their furry friends. Details on the location and the proposed layout in the flyers below!
We’d like to thank Mayor Kelly, Council President Stephenson, Councilman Inglis, Borough Manager Kamauf and the rest of Council for their unanimous support for bringing this type of public amenity to our community!
